about

Jack Green is my last piece written (primarily) in Connecticut. It was the first time, for quite a while, I had made much use of functional harmony in a piece (in a way) and was informed by a Steely Dan tune. In a roundabout way, it's a tribute to the strange, sad corner of Hartford, CT that I knew best.

I'm fond of gesture, functional/non functional harmony, extended techniques, and low sounds. ... more
