This piece us a collision between two inherently different strands - a mildly editing field recording of the Hamlin Park neighorhood in Buffalo, NY, and a collection of piano harmonies. The limitations of the two mediums highlight their similarities, and a very strange counterpoint arises. The simultaneous but contrasting processes (a circular journey around a neighborhood, a meandering and unpredictable piano) proposes a counterpoint of form. Together, this evokes (for me) a sense of uncertainty - given the materials, the situation can never be quite harmonious, but the tension if provoking.
