by Meredith Gilna

I performed this piece on my senior composition recital, way back in 2010. I was remarkably sick with something, which is my excuse for botching that chromatic scale.

"Fracture" is not terribly concerned about structure or key, rather it's just a wandering ride through different moments. This is my pre-Hartt voice, before I got to know Stockhausen and Cage, and the rubber stylistically hit the fan soon afterward.

This piece has only been performed in states that begin with the letter 'I'.

I'm fond of gesture, functional/non functional harmony, extended techniques, and low sounds. ... more
